(This
paragraph was written on 9-20-2008) Many months ago I was privileged to
attend several Ladies' Bible Studies
at the church where I and my husband worship. One day, after the Bible Study, the ladies were given
a lovely prayer that was written by J.C. Permission was given to publish
her prayer via this web page. The profound prayer
reads as follow:
"Dear
God, As I look at women in the New Testament as examples You have set
before me, please hear my heart's cry for more of You.
"Like
Elizabeth, even in my older age, may I be submissive to Your will for using
my life. And like Mary, tho young, let YOU decide what miracles to
come across my path and
accept them willingly.
"God,
please keep me pure and holy unto You, not argumentative or selfish, but
keep my eyes and my heart centered on You, above all else. If
faced with death, grief, disappointment or confusion, like Mary and
Martha, may my faith grow stronger and my trust deepen as You unfold
Your plans for me.
"I
ask for help to realize just how blest my life really is and to be
humble and submissive to You, and rejoice because I know You
personally. It's my desire to be obedient to You, guided daily by
the Holy Spirit so that I am at the right place at the right time so You
may be glorified thru my life's activities, just like Lydia.
"Lord,
as I partner with You and with others, as Priscilla, please help me have
a servant's heart, to be a leader of others for Your Kingdom's sake, and
be useful in helping others develop deeper and stronger relationships
with You.
"Thank
You for Your place in my heart and life. I love You, Lord.
Amen"

The
word "Christian Poetry" is an expression of the heart and
soul. When singing Christian Songs from a Church Song Book, we
discover that the rhyming words were many times written as
"poetry". This does not indicate that all poetry is turned
into music.
Over
the years, I have been privileged to write numerous Christian
Poetry. A great number of Christian Poetry had been compiled and
copyrighted at the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. via the title of
© "MELODIOUS EXPRESSIONS OF THE HEART AND SOUL". One of
the poems, written on September 28, 1984, was copyrighted and is entitled
"I CAME TO GOD". The poem reads as follows:
"I
CAME
TO
GOD"
Today
I came to God in need
"Give
strength," I prayed,
With
a child-like plea.
I
came to God with a crying heart
"My
strength is sufficient,"
Was
His remark.
I
came to God with a longing heart
He
filled me anew with power
From
His loving heart.
I
came to God to ask His Will for me
"Live
daily, as a child of God,"
Was
His gentle plea to me.
I
sought God through tear-stained eyes
And
told Him of my love,
"I
love you, too," He said to me
(*)
"Be
still, My child,
And
know that I am God!"

Over
many decades, God raised up powerful men and women to do battle for Him.
St. Francis of Assisi was born in the year 1182. His parents were a
merchant couple that imported luxurious fabrics and sold them in
Italy. Although the parents of Francis wanted their son to become a
successful fabric merchant, God had other plans for this person.
Francis became a monk and his mission was to help rebuild the whole faith.
A
famous prayer, that Francis wrote, reads as follows:
~
Prayer by St. Francis of Assisi ~
Lord,
make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where
there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where
there is injury, pardon.
Where
there is doubt, faith.
Where
there is darkness, light.
And
where there is sadness, joy.
O
Divine
Master, grant that I may not so much
Seek
to be
as to console:
To
be understood, as to understand;
To
be loved, as to love;
For
it is in giving that we receive;
It
is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And
it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
