HE PAIN IN YOUR LIFE - #43

Written by Johanna Hobrath

People - young or old - may share profound stories about their encounter with pleasant and unpleasant circumstances.  I come from a country that is one fourth around the world (© "THE LIFE OF A WOMAN OF GOD" - finalized manuscript in progress).  I can honestly attest to the fact that "the Loving Hand of God" has kept me through pleasant and unpleasant circumstances in my life; and, undoubtedly, much help has come from the Heavenly, Divine Protection.

Pain in people's lives comes in various degrees.  How a person copes with pain is, at times, dependent upon the individual's perception.  Pain can be described as being "physical" or "emotional".  Circumstances in life will also contribute to one's problem.

We all can be thankful that in today's society we have doctors, social workers, and psychiatrists that alleviate much pain that people suffer.

Jesus, while walking on earth, said:  ". . . They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick."  Matthew 9:12

Medical knowledge has made tremendous strides for alleviating pain.  (Daniel 12:4)

However, the deep-seated pain of the heart and soul can be brought to the Physician Jesus, and He understands the tears of the heart.  The promises in God's Word are like ointment to a deep wound.

Are you hurting?  Then let "The Powerful Healer" place ointment into the hurts of your life.

In the quiet "Prayer Time," the Hand of Jesus will bring comfort and peace "that passes all understanding."  (Philippians 4:7)

Isaiah 41:10 tells us so beautifully: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee:  be not dismayed; for I am thy God:  I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

This morning (July 15, 2001) while worshipping God in His House, and having my eyes closed, I was permitted to see a woman kneeling in front of a lovely lady's chair.  The woman continued to come to my mind.  The woman, with tears in her eyes, was praying and interceding for herself, etc.

Have you ever heard about an intercessor?  Why do intercessors pray, at times with anguish and tears?  Shedding tears during the "Prayer Time" is not a sign of weakness; but is an indication that the person comes to God in a humble attitude.

We are admonished in I Timothy 2:1-3 . . .

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

"For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;"

One day, in a reverent attitude, I brought an earnest prayer petition to the Lord.  I prayed for people to accept "Salvation in Christ."  The "Prayer Burden" was so heavy that it seemed to be too much to carry.  And, then, it was as if Jesus said to me:  "My child, remember, I died on the cross of Calvary for all those people."

Dear reader, is your pain or your burden too heavy for you to carry?  Remember, the Christ of Calvary is telling you to bring the burdens to Him, and Jesus can give you comfort that passes all understanding.  Let the "Presence of the Lord" lighten your daily burdens.

Jesus said:  ". . . I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."  John 10:10

MAY THE HEAVENLY SHEPHERD

SPEAK COMFORT TO YOU TODAY!

THE SHEPHERD OF MY SOUL

In this valley, Lord, I am not alone

I feel a peace that flows

From my Heavenly Father's Throne

I feel a Love that only You can give

A comfort, that You are near

When You speak that "Peace, be still"

What we experience throughout our lives

Are lessons we must learn

And allow You to be Our Guide

Daily You show me what needs to be done

Whether working or praying

Before the setting sun

Each day is a gift

We must cherish and hold

I thank You today, Lord,

For being the Shepherd of my soul!
