(February
21, 2002) I have been a religious person all my life.
Reverence for God has been taught to me from Europe to America.
God,
the Creator of Heaven and earth, rules and reigns above all
mankind. Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross of Calvary for
all denominations. The awesome miracle of His Resurrection from
the tomb is evident in the lives that are touched by Christ's Saving and
Healing Power.
This
morning, February 21, 2002, my thoughts focus upon Jesus that loved
humanity when He walked this earthly globe. Jesus loves humanity
today. He reaches out to those that are well and to those that
need the healing virtue for body, soul, and spirit.
Today,
February 22, 2002, I returned from fulfilling the duty of grocery
shopping. I then viewed an interesting saga from the television
screen. The story centered around an Olympic medal winner.
*Halle is from the country of Ethiopia. His enduring stamina,
while training as a runner, was awesome to see.
I
also saw many runners vying for the opportunity to be the best in that
class.
Although
all the participants desired to win the gold, or the silver, or the
bronze medal, only the winners from a certain category receive the
rewards.
*Halle
from Ethiopia was one of the winners in the 1996 Olympic that
occurred in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
While
viewing the movie, my thoughts dwelled upon the Christian race.
This race takes place in every-day life. The manual to follow is
the Holy Bible. Reverently, may I state that the Holy Spirit
places not only conviction upon people's lives, but gives guidance to
live the Christian Faith.
Romans
8:26 and 27 states:
"Likewise
the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we
should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself maketh intercession
for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And
he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is in the mind of the Spirit,
because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of
God."
Also,
Scripture so beautifully states in I
Corinthians 9:24,25 . . .
"Know
ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the
prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
And
every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all
things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an
incorruptible."
The
beautiful Scripture in II
Timothy 4:8 gives a
glorious promise to the believer:
"Henceforth
there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the
righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only,
but unto all them also that love his appearing."
