Today
I had the opportunity to read a prophetic article. There is a phrase
within the article that spoke to my spirit. The phrase is: "...come
before me on your knees more often."
Many
of us live in a society where prayer is considered "the least important
task." Do you know that the Bible admonishes us to "pray
without ceasing" (I Thessalonians 5:7).
My
heart and soul may be directed toward God ....
1.
In the House of the Lord
2.
While cleaning your home
3.
While washing dishes!
4.
While driving the car
5.
Etc.
PRAYER
IS IMPORTANT!
While
reading another prophetic article from a website today, it was stated that the
9-11 twin tower calamity was God's judgment.
When
we look at the Scripture from James
1:13, we are
admonished: "Let
no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be
tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:"
James
1:17 tells us: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from
above, and cometh down from the Father of lights with whom is no variableness,
neither shadow of turning."
The
foregoing Scriptures tell us: 1) God does not tempt us with
evil. 2) Good gifts come from God.
I
would be amiss if I stated that all is all right. Of course, "sin
is sin." Also, sin brings consequences. The consequences may
refer to individuals and/or nations of the world.
The
destruction of the twin towers was a diabolical act by people that wanted
destruction; therefore, bringing a chain of consequential actions that deeply
hurt the individual, families, businesses, government departments, etc.
In
my opinion: If the above scenario was an act of God, the scheming of
those diabolical people were then working for God. Personally, I cannot
comprehend when people purposely hurt others and because of the enormous
tragedy they then are supposedly working for God?
Throughout
the ages, tragedies of minor and/or greater proportion have affected the lives
of people and/or history. Those tragedies, however, have many times
culminated into seeking the Presence of a Holy God.
As
a true Christian, I continue to seek God for daily wisdom and guidance.
My belief is grounded in the Bible that gives the guidance for my daily walk
with God. God is the ultimate Person of the Holy Trinity (I
John 5:7).
As
a Christian, I am not necessarily exempt from the problems of life.
However, over the years, I continue to depend upon God that provides
sustaining power through Jesus Christ the Lord and the guidance from the Holy
Spirit. Praise God!
I
Corinthians 2:12 tells me: "Now we have received,
not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might
know the things that are freely given to us of God."
I
Corinthians 2:16 tells me: "For
who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the
mind of Christ."
According
to the above Scripture Verses, does that indicate that I have
"arrived", so to speak? As a Christian we may have numerous
"Spiritual Gifts" (Ephesians 4:7), however we are still
on earth. "Spiritual Revelation" from another person [aside
from the realm of Scripture] is to be tried within the direction of
Scripture. (I John
4:1)
I
John 4:1, 2 and 3 gives
the importance of discerning if a person and/or teaching is of God.
I
John 4:1, 2 and 3 reads . . .
"Beloved,
believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:
because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
"Hereby
know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is
come in the flesh is of God:
"And
every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not
of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard
that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
The
Bible also warns that there are many voices in the world. Discernment is
much needed in order to differentiate those voices. A guideline to those
voices is:
Psalm
95:7 states:
For
he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his
hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,"
Psalm
103:20 states:
"Bless
the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments,
hearkening unto the voice of his word."
I
John 3:10 tells us:
"In
this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not
his brother."
Revelation
3:20 tells us:
"Behold,
I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the
door, I will come in to him, and will sup with
him, and he with me."

When
living in times of need, people have petitioned the God of Heaven to intervene
and to change the circumstances beyond the control of circumstances. We
are to encourage one another "as
we see the day approaching." [Hebrews 10:24,25] In other
words, we are to encourage one another in these end time years. (Matthew
24:4-8)
When
speaking to people, I have often stated: "how can people live
without God?" I need Jesus in my daily life. I need to
worship the God of heaven. I need to search and research God's Holy
Word. I need to pray for needs within my family, and the needs of other
people.
I
Corinthians 14:15 tells me:
"What
is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the
understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with
the understanding also."
A
recent poem so beautifully tells about "Heavenly Strength."

HEAVENLY
STRENGTH
My
life, Lord, has seen mountaintops
And
valleys that are very deep
Through
it all I found contentment upon my knees.
Lord
Jesus You died for me
And
for mankind You paved the way
So
that souls may enter Eternity now and always.
Daily
I ask that Your Presence abide
And
that You walk with me side by side.
A
vessel I want to continue to be
That
points souls to the cross of Calvary.
And
when my life on earth is done,
I
will then enter Heaven for years to come!
