"CHRISTMAS 2005"

Written by Johanna Hobrath

The Christmas Season is a beautiful time of the year.  Children and adults alike enjoy the lovely decorations that are so bountifully displayed in the homes, churches, and stores.  Christmastime also gives thoughts as to what to purchase for those special persons. [The photo to your right is a Nativity Scene, and was photographed by JH in 2003]

Although Christmas is a joyful occasion, many of us will reflect upon those that are no longer within the family unit and/or the circle of our choosing.

For the December 2005 Newsletter, I want to include a special poem that was written on December 5, 1986.  The poem reads as follows:

THE BIRTH OF MY SAVIOUR

The journey was long, the night was cool

They needed to rest, they needed a room

No opening in the inn could be found

No empty room, no place in town.

The time was desperate, the time was near

For a Baby to be born, a Baby so dear

Once more the man knocked, asking for a place

Where they could settle, so they could rest.

No lovely place could be found for the Son of God

No lovely place, except the stable with dried sod.

And so it was, the Baby was born

And laid in a manger with straw for adorn'

The angel told shepherds that night long ago

That the Baby in the manger is Christ the Lord.

Dear Jesus --

I was not there to pay homage to Thee

But I thank You that You came for me

Bless friends and family near and far

And may You be our Guiding Star.

Come live in hearts of children, husbands, and wives,

And bring joy and peace throughout our lives.

For many years now, my zeal for the religious writing ministry has brought about the HALO MINISTRIES.  The HALO MINISTRIES is presently an internet ministry.  Without being flamboyant , I am grateful to be working for this worthwhile internet ministry.  May I state that "the Halo Ministries is a worldwide ministry, and the pulpit is located via http://www.haloministries.net."
