THE
BIRTH
OF
MY
SAVIOUR

The
journey was long, the night was cool
They
needed to rest, they needed a room
No
opening in the inn could be found
No
empty room, no place in town.
The
time was desperate, the time was near
For
a Baby to be born, a Baby so dear
Once
more the man knocked, asking for a place
Where
they could settle, so they could rest.
No
lovely place could be found for the Son of God
No
lovely place, except the stable with dried sod.
And
so it was, the Baby was born
And
laid in a manger with straw for adorn'
The
angel told shepherds that night long ago
That
the Baby in the manger is Christ the Lord.
Dear
Jesus --
I
was not there to pay homage to Thee
But
I thank You that You came for me
Bless
friends and family near and far
And
may You be our Guiding Star.
Come
live in hearts of children, husbands, and wives,
And
bring joy and peace throughout our lives.
