WHY DOES GOD LOVE US?

The December 2003 Newsletter is to make reference to the Christmas story.  The Biblical reference shares the significance of the Divine Plan of God for mankind.  (Read Matthew, Chapters One and Two)

During the Christmas Season the display of angels is also many times a great part of the manger scene that shares the Birth of Christ that occurred in a lowly stable in the town of Bethlehem.

Allow me to make reference to the first chapter of the Book of Genesis.  The first chapter tells us about the creation of the world.  Genesis 1:26 tells us that the Holy Trinity agreed to create mankind.

Long ago, however, a beautiful angel rebelled against God and took with him the fallen angels of heaven.  (Read Ezekiel, Chapter 28)  Through the ages past, and in this present time, the prince of this world has caused havoc to believers and nonbelievers. The ultimate plan of God is for people to have eternal life with Him.

Did you know that it was Gabriel that foretold the Birth of Christ to Mary?  (Luke 1:26,27,28) 

Also, angels of the Lord came to the shepherds during the night when Jesus was born.  (Luke 2:8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15)  Angels are messengers of God and may serve the heirs of salvation.  (Luke 1:14)

Why Does God Love us?  II Peter 3:9 specifically tells us that God desires that mankind live eternally with Him.

May the Christmas Season 2003 again remind you and me of the Love of God toward mankind! May our hearts rejoice and be grateful that Jesus was born for the purpose of sharing His Eternal Love that was proven on Calvary.

A RECENT WAR STORY

[11/22/03]  Yesterday, November 21, 2003, while standing in line at the Post Office, a kindly grandmother placed one of her cartons onto the table.  I glanced at the boxes and saw two boxes that had been addressed to the same private first class military person.  I waited awhile, and, then, spoke to the grandmother.  The grandmother was writing forms for the seven boxes that were to be sent to the private first class military person.  I then excused myself and said, “Is your son in Iraq?”  She replied, “It is my son-in-law, and he is in Baghdad.”  I asked, “How do you cope with all this?”  The answer:  “With lots of prayer.”  I then continued standing in line until it was my turn to send a large envelope to a Christian couple.  The envelope contained a letter and a poem entitled “WHAT IS AN ANGEL?”

While exiting the post office area where I had stood in line, something tugged at my heart.  I returned to the grandmother and asked her name.  “Linda,” she replied.  I stated, “Linda, I will be praying for you and your family.  And, does the soldier have any children?” I stated.  “A 9-year old girl, my granddaughter” she said.  Linda continued speaking:  “Recently I and my granddaughter saw her dad on TV when he and others were being shot at by anti-American supporters.  Because of that scene from the TV, the granddaughter’s school grades have been drastically lowered.”  I listened sympathetically to Linda.  Linda continued and said, “My daughter, the 9-year old girl's mother, was in Afghanistan.  Because she was wounded, she was transferred to the Carolinas.”  “Is your daughter in the service?” I asked.  Linda then replied, “Yes, they both are in the military.”  While on my way out of the post office, I saw a long line.  At the end of the line, I saw a good-looking man in a business suite, and he smiled at me.

While I was driving to a grocery store, my eyes almost filled with tears.  My heart prayed for Linda and her family.  And I whispered, “God there is a reason for the Halo Ministries.”

PRAYER:  Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, surround the American and British soldiers with Your Divine Protection.  Give continued wisdom to President Bush and his Cabinet.  May You, Oh Divine Creator, rule and reign throughout the world.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
