CHRISTMAS 2002 ~

[November
28, 2002] This morning, while thinking about the holidays, my
thoughts dwelled upon Christmas and its significance.
I
have a birthday every year, and my family remembers me on that
birthday. The birthday remembrance is then honored and
celebrated. When I think that I am one person among the
billions of people on earth, I then consider myself as a very
insignificant individual. My self-esteem does not come from
what I may accomplish [but, certainly, we may have some pride in
what we accomplish].
When
I think that God also loves me from among the billions of people
that live on earth, I then focus with gratitude upon the God of
Heaven and with a song in my heart I
can praise and adore the Creator of Mankind who sent His Son
to earth some 2000 years ago so that I may receive the “Salvation
in Christ” and be assured that I, too, have that privilege of some
day entering Heaven. [John
3:16]
Last
week I attended a supervisory meeting. A featured guest
speaker is a person that wears several hats, so to speak. The
featured guest speaker spoke about how we may better care for
ourselves during the pressure of the holiday season. The guest
speaker gave each of us a card, etc., and beautifully shared about
angels.
Why
not be an angel! May the following words help you to also

Yesterday
[November 27, 2002] I was grateful to spend the day at home.
Wanting to accomplish chores because of the upcoming holidays, I
cleaned the chandelier and the china cabinet. While cleaning
the chandelier, one of my kitchen washcloths stuck to one of the
chandelier prisms. I then walked into the kitchen to get my
eye glasses and chuckled as I viewed the washcloth hanging from the
chandelier. While laughing, I told my husband “Wouldn’t
that make a pretty picture if I left the washcloth hanging on the
chandelier?” “At least,” I said, "People would know
that I cleaned the chandelier."
With
the upcoming holidays, I will try to be an angel and hope that you,
too, will want to be an angel.
