WHY
DO I
SERVE GOD?

I
have attended church services for many years. Do I serve God
because my life is better than the life of the next person? I
am sure that the previous question may be discussed at greater
length; and such a discussion may bring a variety of answers.
This
article makes me focus upon the years that I have journeyed on
earth. The reflection of those years brings an enormous
gratitude to a God. I may know God intimately through Jesus
Christ the Lord and Saviour of my soul. The “Spiritual
Journey” on earth brings not only enormous gratefulness, but,
also, the untold joy of knowing that I am heaven-bound.

The
month of November focuses us upon the lovely celebration of “Thanksgiving.”
The “Thanksgiving” holiday evokes thoughts of
thankfulness. The word “Gratefulness” and “Thankfulness”
are intertwined and speak about an emotion that brings contentment
to heart and soul.
I
may not know the circumstances that surround your life. You
may not know the circumstances of my life and/or its untold sorrows
and joys that have come my way. The journey on earth may, at
times, be bittersweet; however, I choose to look upon the “Author”
and “Finisher” of my faith. [Hebrews
12:2]
I
serve a God with reverence and gratefulness. Beyond this
earthly life, I have a “Glorious Hope” of some day walking the
Streets of Gold. [Revelation
21:21] And,
as I continue this earthly journey, my heart continues to reverently
serve “He Who
Sits on the Throne and Unto the Lamb” - to Him be Glory forever!
