(The
November 2001 Halo Ministries Newsletter was derived from the Biblical
Brochure Number 01-03-16, dated February 15, 1998)
Last
evening (February 15, 1998), I and my husband had returned from a church
service. (A singing group, composed of four men, had presented a
concert; and, several anointed songs were a blessing to me.) We
had been at home for a few minutes, and, then, the telephone rang.
I spoke with a young lady. She shared numerous, adverse happenings
that had been and are occurring in her present life. The lady
shared about her daughter having had an operation. Her husband
recently had surgery; however, the expected cancer appeared as a mass of
benign tissue (an answer to prayer). The prognosis for the lady’s
condition evoked empathy from me.
As
I spoke with the lady, I encouraged her to ask prayer from her pastors,
and, the lady indicated that prayers were said for her and her family.
I
advised the lady: TO HOLD ON TO THE HAND OF JESUS; AND, IN
HOPELESS SITUATIONS THE LORD CAN GIVE THE SUSTAINING STRENGTH THAT ANY
INDIVIDUAL NEEDS IN SEEMINGLY, HOPELESS HAPPENINGS!
This
morning (02/15/98), I am reminded of the devastating effects that my
parents and their children (me included) experienced during World War
II. During that time, we became immigrants. My two brothers
and I, and other children, six years of age and older, had to leave our
homeland. The three of us were orphans for approximately six
months. We were placed into three different homes; and, via
Heavenly Providence, we were reunited with our mother and the rest of
the family. (At that time, my father continued his tailoring
profession for the Russian army in the homeland of Janova Lehota,
Czechoslovakia.)
Also,
this morning (02/15/98), I am reminded of the devastation that floods,
tornadoes, and earthquakes cause to this planet earth. (Matthew
24:6,7,8)
Each
morning, I or you can lift a grateful emotion to the Heavenly
Father. Remember -- it is God that permits the rain and/or
sunshine to come upon the entire world. (Matthew
5:45)
As
a six-year old orphan in the 1940’s, I found comfort in knowing that "...there
is a God in Heaven." (Daniel 2:28) And,
now, as an older Christian, I continue to find comfort in the knowledge
that "...there is a God
in Heaven."
Trusting in the Living
God applies to circumstances of the past, present, and future.
Adverse
happenings may be occurring in your life; however, in those types of
valleys HOLD ON TO THE HAND OF JESUS, BECAUSE HE SAYS, "
...I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE." (HEBREWS 13:5)
I
am traveling to a land that has no adverse happenings, no floods, no
tornadoes, no earthquakes, no homelessness, and that place is called
HEAVEN!
I
am glad that HIS SUSTAINING LOVE WAS, IS, AND IS TO COME! (Hebrews
13:8)
