HALO
MINISTRIES' MONTHLY E-MAIL NEWSLETTER
[PUBLISHED
VIA THE HALO MINISTRIES]
OCTOBER
2002, ISSUE 14
Written
by Johanna Hobrath

Dear
Recipient,
The
Halo Ministries
has been publishing its monthly E-Newsletters
for several months. The Newsletter is e-mailed to several individual
e-mail addresses. (The e-mail addresses are not for distribution.)
It
is my privilege to write and publish what God by His Spirit places upon my
heart. [The writing and/or publishing has been ongoing since
1984.]
The
objective of the Halo
Ministries -- like
other Christian Websites -- is to proclaim the mandate of Christ ... GO
YE INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL, etc. [Matthew 28:19,20]
If
you believe that God answers prayers, please include the following prayer
requests:
1.
That I, Johanna, continue to faithfully pursue the work of the God-given Halo
Ministries.
2.
That my personal funds continue to be available, so that I may continue to
subsidize this Ministry.
3.
That my life continues to focus upon the eminent return of Christ so that
people will be drawn to the Good News of the Gospel.
4.
That I continue to bless others as a pastoral care person (via the
Pastoral Care Department in a large hospital).
May
you be blessed when reading the October E-Newsletter. Have a good
day!
JOHANNA
HOBRATH, PRESIDENT for the HALO MINISTRIES
The
month of October reminds us that autumn is the season whereby summer
activities turn into school days, the leaves on the trees turn into many
fall colors, and our days ahead focus upon the upcoming holidays of
Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. Autumn also reminds us about the
harvesting of pumpkins, and about the hard-working farmers that gather the
produce from fields that yielded the growing crops.
Pumpkins
and colorful leaves remind me of Autumn.
In
the month of August [of this year] I received an email message about
"A Pumpkin." Because it seems appropriate to talk about
pumpkins that are harvested in the fall, the October 2002 E-Newsletter
contains a profound article about a pumpkin. The article reads as
follows:
A
PUMPKIN .
. . [An
Article from an E-Mail Message]
A
woman was asked by a co-worker "What is it like to be a
Christian?"
The
co-worker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin. God picks you
from the patch, brings you in and washes all the dirt off of you.
Then
he cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes
the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc., and then He carves you a new
smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world
to see."
This
was passed on to me from another pumpkin. Now, it is your turn to
pass it to a pumpkin.
**********
P.S.
from Johanna: I realize there are many hurting people in the
world. Those types of people are also Christians; however, due to
their circumstances they may not be able to show a smiling face to the
world. Be assured that God gives peace that passes all
understanding. [PHILIPPIANS
4:7] REMEMBER . . .
HIS
SUSTAINING LOVE WAS, IS, AND IS TO COME! HEBREWS 13:8

NEXT TIME - SERVING HIM, JOHANNA
