THE CONFLICTS IN LIFE
I
believe that each person has a story. The story, that a person
shares, may tell about the past, present, or future hopes and dreams.
In
this sophisticated society, there are many individual groups that help
with solving complex situations and, thus, making life more
bearable. Undoubtedly, conflicts come to all of us; and, of course,
the ultimate solution is: “Coping with undesirable conflicts that
come into one’s life.”
It
is a beautiful day this morning (October 14, 2000) , and the sun is ready
to peak over the horizon. I reflected upon the past years that seem
so quickly to have passed by. The enjoyable days are savored and
cherished. However, what do we do with days that bring conflicts and
pain into our lives?
This
morning (10/14/2000 - last year) my thoughts turned to the Bible
Moses. Moses, a dynamic man of God, led the children of Israel
through the wilderness. The Bible speaks about the many conflicts
that Moses had experienced. How would you like to lead a multitude
of people through a wilderness? I am sure that the multitude of
people were joyful at first. This joyous occasion was due to the
fact that the people were relieved from the bondage that the Egyptian
rulers had imposed upon them. However, as the days turned into
weeks, the weeks into months, the months into years, the people became
restless and began to grumble. However, Moses was enduring and
protective toward the Israelites.
Moses,
the leader of the children of Israel, kept in contact with the God of
Heaven. Moses had a divine protection from God. Numbers
12:6 to 8 tells us that
Moses was a prophet and that God spoke to him personally.
At
one juncture (Exodus,
Chapter 33) Moses took the tabernacle and
placed it outside the Israelite's camp. The tabernacle was called
the “Tabernacle of the congregation (Exodus
33:7)."
When we read further, we discover that Moses went into the tabernacle and
the presence of God became extremely strong. God then talked to
Moses (Exodus 33:9).
Also, God spoke to Moses “face to face” (Exodus
33:11).
Moses, filled with a divine passion, petitioned God and said, “...See,
thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast
not let me know whom thou wilt send with
me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also
found grace in my sight. Now, therefore, I pray thee, if I have
found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee, that
I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy
people.” (Exodus 33:12,13)
What
did God answer?
Exodus 33:14 tells us: “And
he said, My presence shall go with
thee, and I will give thee rest.”
Moses was given a great promise. May this divine promise echo in
hearts and lives of people that desire a divine revelation from God.
In
the Old Testament God revealed himself to chosen people. As a
Christian and believer in the “Saving Grace of Christ,” I can also
approach the Heavenly Throne directly and petition the God of Heaven as
follows: "LORD, I DESIRE THY PRESENCE AND DIVINE GUIDANCE IN MY DAILY
LIFE."
Remember
- God desires communion with you, however, the first step is: “Accepting
the ‘Salvation’ that God offers through His Holy Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ - the Heavenly Shepherd and Redeemer of all mankind!”
(John 3:16)
Moses,
a mighty man of God, had much difficulty being the leader of the children
of Israel.
When
we, as Christians seem to have a “wilderness journey," we can
petition the God of Heaven to supply wisdom and grace so that we may
be sustained throughout our earthly journey.
My
Bible tells me that in our suffering and/or affliction, God is with us.
(I Corinthians 10:13)
Again and again I have experienced victory in Christ when petitioning Him
through prayer
and reading His Precious Promises -- because “the Promises of God are
True and Amen.”
The
Bible tells me in Psalm
18:2, “The LORD is my rock, and my
fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my
buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”
I
am glad that “HIS SUSTAINING LOVE” WAS, IS, AND IS TO COME!
