Have
you ever heard the expression: “I come from the Old School”?
I am a Christian writer that may say: “I come from the Old
School.” What does the foregoing expressions signify? The
foregoing phrase may make reference to old-time standards, old-time
teaching in schools, old-time values, etc. Older people may be
referred to as “being old-fashioned”, etc.
Now,
dear readers, please understand that I am not down-grading education in
a person’s life. This knowledgeable age in the society of today,
is astounding. Companies will definitely be interested in a
college degree and the educational success that is achieved when a
person studies for several years in order to receive the diploma that he
or she is striving to receive.
Education
has come a long way when compared to the turn of the century. Does
anyone want to go back to the time when we did not have electricity, or
electric/gas stoves, or washing machines, computers, etc.? The
technological marvels are products that help with household chores,
etc. Furthermore, Scripture tells us that “knowledge
shall be increased”.
(Daniel 12:4)
In
this society you may ask the question: “what stays constant?”.
The Holy Bible has
stayed constant
throughout centuries. Also, it is wonderful to know that “Jesus
is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8 ).
Furthermore, the “Precious Promises” from the
Holy Scripture are “True and Amen”.
Every person may have
his or her philosophy in life; however, the Word of God - THE BIBLE - is
my “GUIDELINE TO HEAVEN”.
And, dear reader, some day you and/or I will face the “Maker
of Heaven and Earth”.
Educational
degrees that are
earned during a lifetime are wonderful achievements. Advanced
education in today’s society is important; however, the question
remains: “Do
you know Christ Jesus the Saviour of the world? And, Jesus is the
only one that leads
us to heaven!!” (John 3:16)
I firmly believe that God belongs in the classroom. God created
mankind………………"In
the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth"
………………. GENESIS CHAPTER ONE, Etc.
Regards,
JSH

Have
you ever heard about a Reverend by the name of David Wilkerson?
While reading the July 10-11, 2011 “PENTECOSTAL EVANGEL” Magazine,
much information was featured about Rev. David Wilkerson.
Rev. Wilkerson was a great man of God. His life was devoted to
reaching lost souls for Christ. On April 27, 2011, his life
entered the Glorious Eternity. Rev. Wilkerson wrote an
article for the April 27 Devotional.
The article is entitled “When All Means Fail". The
last paragraph of the aforementioned article reads as follows:
“Beloved,
God has never failed to act but in goodness and love. When all means
fail -- His love prevails. Hold fast to your faith. Stand
fast in His Word. There is no other hope in this world.”
