~  GOD OWNS THE CATTLE ON A THOUSAND HILLS ~

(PSALM 50:10)

During the month of July (2008), my husband and I traveled toward the state of Michigan for the purpose of attending a Christian Family Camp.  That day, the weather was beautiful; the sun was shining and there were clouds in the blue sky.  While my husband was driving the car, I reviewed the scenery in front of us as well as the scenery beside us.  You could see many green meadows, corn fields; and, later on, apple orchards, blueberry fields, etc.  When viewing the sky with its cotton-like clouds, my thoughts were directed toward Heaven.

The Bible tells us in Genesis Chapter One that God (in three persons) created the earth.  As a child, born in Europe, I always enjoyed the outdoors.  Today, as a woman, I delight seeing the many flowers with their lovely hues of colors.  Indeed, God created a beautiful world.  And, in this world, we see and hear about negative situations as well as positive occurrences.   Through it all, we may continue to praise the God of the universe for sending Jesus, His Son, to a earth that needed redemption through the Precious Blood that was shed on Calvary (John 3:16).

The title for the August Newsletter tells us that God owns the cattle on a thousand hills.  How can that be?  When we read Genesis Chapter One, we will soon discover that God (in three persons) created the world.  Some time ago, while searching the Bible, Genesis Chapter One and Verses 1 and 2 became very real to me, and those Verses tell us:

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form, and void;  and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."

Because I love the Word of God, and because nobody can possibly remember the entire precious Bible, again and again much of His Word may become engrained into the heart if and when we permit the Holy Spirit to empower the knowledge of His Word to become alive in our spirits.  My Bible tells me:  "O taste and see that the LORD is good:  blessed is the man that trusteth in him."  (Psalm 34:8)

Yes, the world was created via God, and He stipulated that mankind is to rule over the earth (Genesis 1:26).  Not all things are okay in this world ; and problems do arise in the individual life; however, I choose to continue to trust God that loved me so much that He sent Jesus to a world that needed a Saviour.  What does the future hold?  I may not have all the answers; however, I can come to a God that sees my heart and motives; and, I may continue to trust His Precious Promises that tells me "…I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."  Hebrews 13:5
