WHAT
DOES
PRAYER
DO?

[For
May 2004] I do pray for personal needs as well as for the needs of
other people. The
Bible states in Jeremiah
33:3: "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee
great and mighty things, which thou knowest
not." (KJV)
It is necessary to have faith in
the Living God and to believe that He hears us when we present petitions
to the Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ.
Most
people do believe that there is a God in Three Persons (I
John 5:7,9,
KJV); and God does answer prayers!
Has
your spouse, your children, your relatives, etc., hurt your
emotions? Remember ... Jesus
stated on the cross of Calvary, "
Father, forgive them; for they
know not what they do. ....” (Luke
23:34)
However, when Jesus arose from the tomb, He showed himself to others
and, thereby, proved that "He
is alive"! When
Christ appeared unto His disciples, He spoke to Thomas and asked him to
place his finger into his nail scarred hand, etc. (John
20:25-29)
Jesus
forgave His transgressors that crucified Him; however, Christ’s nail
scars will always be a sign that He died on Calvary’s cross for you
and for me.
Let
me tell you from my experiences that memories of the "deep scars of
the heart" do surface; and those types of scars can be brought, via
prayer, to God through Jesus Christ; thus permitting Him to continue to
pour ointment into the scars of the heart.
I,
personally, continue to pray the Prayer from the Bible. The Lord’s
Prayer is from Matthew 6:9-13.

9, 2004 is Mother’s Day! If your mother is living, thank her for
the prayers that she prayed for you and that she continues to pray for
you! I am grateful that I had a Christian mother!
