 FAITHFULNESS THROUGHOUT THE AGES!

Written by Johanna Hobrath

What thoughts come to your mind when you are asked "what is faithfulness?"  The dictionary tells us that "faithfulness is true or trustworthy in the performance of duty, the fulfillment of promises or obligations, etc.; loyal."

When dwelling upon past happenings, we all could refer to people and/or happenings that have made us question the validity or faithfulness of events in people’s lives and/or happenings.  Expecting "faithfulness" may include:   Spouses - Children - Relatives - Job Situations - Churches - Government - and the list goes on and on!

On a personal level, may I state "have I always been faithful and/or loyal?"

Being faithful and/or loyal is a noble characteristic.  When faithfulness and/or loyalty is broken, people may say "that is human nature"; therefore, so easily dismissing the characteristic of "faithfulness".

Jesus came to earth some 2000 years ago.  Jesus was born in a lowly stable in a manger in the town of Bethlehem.  Last month we commemorated the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Presently Jesus is seated in Heavenly Places and at the Right Hand of the Heavenly Father.  (Mark 14:62; Mark 16;19)

When Jesus lived on this earth, He realized that mankind is susceptible to the fallen nature since the Garden of Eden.  Jesus reconciled mankind to God so that access is given for permitting the  fellowship with God; and it is Christ that gave you and me that "Glorious Hope" of having the assurance to some day living in the "Splendor of Glory" that is called Heaven.

"Indeed, the faithfulness of Jesus has been and is a characteristic that has spanned throughout the ages and continues in this day and age!"

. . . . Johanna

II Thessalonians 3:3; and I Timothy 2:5 tells us:

"But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

P.S.  Today, March 17, 2008, I began reading a book entitled “I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS: True Stories of Encounters with Jesus”.  This book is written by G. Scott Sparrow, Ed. D.  Dr. Sparrow is a psychotherapist in private practice and he writes: "Jesus Christ occupies a uniquely important place in our spiritual, cultural, and psychological lives, regardless of what we profess to believe.  Etc."

JH Comments: I am of the firm belief that God sees our heart’s desire.  Many times, when I want to draw closer to God, it is He that brings "Divine Blessings" my way.  All I can pray, at times, "thank You, God, for bestowing Your Blessings upon my life, and thereby blessing and feeding my soul.  I look forward to glean more blessings from the aforementioned book that describes encounters with Jesus Christ, the Saviour of all mankind.  Ephesians 1:3, 13 tells us:  "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:  in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise."
