WHAT
IS EASTER?
Although
the article “WHAT IS EASTER?” was written approximately one year ago
(April 16, 2001), the events that occurred during April of that year bring
renewed joy and hope in Christ, the Saviour. May this article also
be a blessing to you.
The
Easter Season -- the Resurrection of Christ, the Lord - brings
thankfulness to my heart and spirit.
On
April 6, 2001, my husband and I had the privilege to attend a
drive-through presentation that took place in the parking lot of a
church. The various stages of the life-like scenes portrayed the
life of Christ, particularly His last days on earth. The actors, in
beautiful, colorful costumes, made a powerful impression of what Jesus did
for mankind. The last scene portrayed a tomb. At the tomb, the
angel, in a beautiful white robe, shared the Good News that JESUS IS
ALIVE!
On
Sunday, April 8, 2001, I and my husband had the opportunity to view an
Easter presentation in the church where we worship. People in
beautiful, colorful costumes joyfully entered the church aisle with palms
in their hands, thus signifying that Jesus had entered Jerusalem.
On
April 16, 2001, I briefly viewed the television program that is regularly
presented by Dr. Zola Levitt. A short film clip from the “Crucifixion
of Christ” was presented. I was surprised that the film clip was
identical to the film clip presented on Easter morning (April 15th) at the
church where I and my husband worship.
A
Poem . . .
THE
TOMB IS EMPTY NOW
Written
by Johanna Stang Hobrath

The
Tomb Is Empty Now ...
Where
Christ once lay
His
body bruised
A
symbol of great woe and pain.
The
Tomb is Empty Now ...
It
could not hold
My
Master, Lord, who died for me
So
I can be purchased and set free.
The
Tomb is Empty Now ...
Oh,
glory to the King
He
rules and reigns in hearts and lives
And
makes my days like clear-blue skies.
The
Tomb is Empty Now ...
And
I can gaze at cloud-covered skies
For
Jesus will return
Some
day, some day, Oh Precious Bride!
Some
day, dear reader, Christ will once again visibly enter this earthly
globe. Are you ready for His Return?
I
Thessalonians 4:16-17 tells us:
For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of
the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ
shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught
up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Until
Next Time - Serving Him, Johanna
