THE
SPAN
OF
LIFE

It
was during the month of December 2003, I was placing a load of laundry
into my washing machine. My thoughts focused upon my mother.
From
December 1998 to the beginning of February 1999, my mother Anna spent
those weeks in my home; and, then, she lived with my youngest brother
and his wife. Anna’s final days on earth were spent in a
Hospice hospital. On April 9, 1999 God chose to take Anna to the
Eternal Home; namely Heaven. [John
14:1-4]
The
upcoming New Year of 2004 makes many of us dwell on the memories of
the past. We ponder the age-old question: “What will the New
Year bring?” During this time of the year, the television
stations review the highlights of the happenings that occurred in the
year 2003. Also, many people will make resolutions for living a
better life.
Why
not resolve to live a better life throughout the year 2004? Scripture
admonishes us: “So
teach us to number our days, that we
may apply our
hearts unto wisdom.” [Psalm 90:12]
My resolution throughout 2004 is: “To continue to bloom where
God has placed me.” I
look forward to continue to cherish the profound truths that
God reveals via His
Holy Word, the Bible.
God also shows us many profound happenings in daily living. May
the Year 2004 be a year that gives opportunities to share the Love of
God with people that need encouragement; and may they know that there
is a Higher Authority that loves all mankind. [Matthew
5:45]
