Many
decades ago, I accepted the full knowledge of “Salvation” (Romans
10:10).
I
was taught, as a child, that a girl must be subservient to others; and
that a wife needs to be subservient to her spouse. However,
extreme subservient living can lead to bondage. Also, I viewed
non-Christians as being beneath my “Christian Status.”
Over
the years, however, I have learned to have self-esteem in the knowledge
that my eternal life is secured through Jesus Christ shedding His
Precious Blood on the cross of Calvary.
Galatians
4:9 tells us: "But now, after that ye have known God, or rather
are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements,
whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?"
John
8:36 tells us: "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye
shall be free indeed."
Although
I am to respect the religious and/or secular person(s), my self-esteem
does not come from what a person thinks of me, but, rather HOW DOES MY
HEAVENLY FATHER THROUGH JESUS CHRIST SEE ME?
It
is essential that I or you continue to learn to have balance in any
segment of daily living. And, this balance needs to be in
conjunction with God’s Holy Word that tells us in Ephesians
5:21 . . . .
"Submitting
yourselves one to another in the fear of God."
Yes,
I do believe in Submission; however, the foregoing Bible phrase tells me .
. . in the fear of God. This does not indicate that I need to submit
via bondage or fear. I have respect for God, therefore I will also
respect others via a Godly Reverence that is pleasing to my Heavenly
Father.
Indeed,
you, too, may have the security of knowing that A PRECIOUS PORTION OF
HEAVEN IS STORED IN YOUR HEART. (II
Peter 1:3-5)
