COMPUTER
PARABLE, POEM, & TECH TALK - #26

Written
by Johanna Hobrath
February
16, 2002
On
January 26, 1993 (information was recorded into “Johanna’s Diary, Volume
Two”) another computer class for adults was in session at a high
school. I was one of the students during that time. Each new
lesson gave me added knowledge to the variety of functions that a program
from the computer can do.
While
drinking coffee the next morning, January 27, 1993, my thoughts dwelled on
the session that had taken place the previous evening. I found that
particular session to be a difficult session. When practicing on the
computer in the classroom, or following the procedures from the book, or
with the help of the instructor, a person can accomplish the complicated
task of perfecting a document.

When
Jesus walked this earth,
He
used many parables
and
applied them to
spiritual truths.
Such
examples are:

Tares
among the Wheat ... Matthew
13:24-30
The
Hidden Treasure ... Matthew
13:44
The
Full Net ... Matthew 13:47-48
The
Unmerciful Servant ... Matthew
18:23-34
Laborers
in the Vineyard ... Mathew
18:23-34
The
Father and Two Sons ... Matthew
20:28-32
Wise
and Foolish Virgins ... Matthew
25:1-13
The
Talents ... Matthew 25:14-30
The
Sheep and the Goats ... Matthew
25:42-476
Growth
of a Seed of Grain ... Mark
4:26-29
Etc.

When
comparing spiritual truths with the computer, the following parable gives us
an awesome comparison:
The
Disk . . . A Life
The
Disk in the Computer . . . A life in
the Master's Hand
The
Document . . . I or You
The
Different Options . . . The many
ways God may Change a Life
Replacing
a Text . . . God
can use other Vessels also
(Be
Thankful for the Talents that God has given to You)
The
Thesaurus . . . God’s Wealth is
Incomprehensible
Deleting
a Section of a Text . . . God may have
to change
certain
Areas in
Your Life
Moving
a Text . . . God may want to
Rearrange an Area in Your Life
Placing
Tabs . . . God
may Show You when to Wait or when to Move
The
Use of Tabs to Add to the Text . . .
God may want to Give
You
Additional Responsibility
Adding
a Footnote . . . God
may want to Highlight an Area in Your Life
Checking
Spelling . . . God
may want to Show You a Weakness
in Your Everyday Walk with Him
|
In
the Realm
of Glory, God
may say to you:

"...Well
done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful
over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things:
enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:21

There
are, of course, many more computer functions.
Our
complex lives are also diverse in nature.
When
using the proper commands to exit from the computer during that session on
January 26, 1993, suddenly the company's name appeared on the computer
screen. This sudden action reminds me of an event that may take place
in your or my lifetime. We
are living in the period of grace. People all over the world are given
opportunities to accept Jesus as their Saviour. (For the Plan of Salvation,
click “SALVATION"
and you will be directed to the article that speaks about Salvation.)
Some
day, you and I will exit this world and there are two ways to exit:
*
The grave
**
The Return of Our Lord
*
I Corinthians 15:53 and 54 tells us:
“For
this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality.
“So
when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall
have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is
written, Death is swallowed up in victory.”
**
I Corinthians 15:51 and 52 tells us:
“Behold,
I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
“In
a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed.”
WILL
YOU BE READY
TO
MEET “THE CREATOR”
WHEN
YOU EXIT THIS WORLD?
On
December 1, 1997, I was privileged to write a poem entitled "THE
COMING OF
THE LORD." The
poem also appears in the booklet entitled ©
"THE ILLUMINATED
HAND OF GOD." This
profound poem reads as follows:
|
THE
COMING OF THE LORD
Throughout
the ages past
And
years that are ahead
"The
Coming of the Lord" is sought
At
times, with an anguish prayer.
The
Bible states
The
day will come
And
the trumpet will proclaim
"The
Coming of God's Holy Son."
Dear
friend
The
trumpet will sound some day,
The
question
"Are
you saved by 'His Amazing Grace'?"
Be
waiting, watching
For
that clouded sky,
Don't
miss
"The
Coming of the Lord that's nigh."
Each
day
My
Jesus could return,
To
claim "the Church--the Glorious Bride"
For
"a Wedding Celebration"
In
"the Sweet Bye and Bye."

On
September 8, 2002 I received an email message that referred to a computer
conversation. The email message was sent by Richard Raszkiewicz.
The
email message is entitled "Tech Talk" and reads as follows:
TECH TALK by
Richard Raszkiewicz
Customer:
Well, I'm not very
technical, but I think I'm ready to install it now. What do I do first?
Tech Support:
The first step is to open
your HEART.
Have you located your HEART,
ma'am?
Customer:
Yes, I have, but there are several other programs running right now.
Is it okay to install while they are running?
Tech Support:
What programs are running, ma'am?
Customer:
Let's see...I have PAST-HURT.EXE,
LOW-ESTEEM.EXE, GRUDGE.EXE,
and RESENTMENT.COM
running now.
Tech Support:
No problem. LOVE
will gradually erase PAST-HURT.EXE
from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent
memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs.
LOVE
will eventually overwrite LOW-ESTEEM.EXE
with a module of its own called HIGH-ESTEEM.EXE.
However, you have to completely turn off GRUDGE.EXE
and RESENTMENT.COM.
Those programs prevent LOVE
from being properly installed. Can you turn those off, ma'am?
Customer:
I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?
Tech Support:
My pleasure. Go to your Start menu and invoke FORGIVENESS.EXE.
Do this as many times as necessary until it's erased the programs you don't
want?
Customer: Okay,
now LOVE
has started installing itself automatically. Is that normal?
Tech Support:
Yes. You should receive a message that says it will reinstall for the
life of your HEART.
Do you see that message?
Customer:
Yes, I do. Is it completely installed?
Tech Support:
Yes, but remember that
you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other HEARTs
in order to get the
upgrades.
Customer:
Oops. Have an error message already. What should I do?
Tech Support:
What does the message say?
Customer:
It says "ERROR
412-PROGRAM NOT RUN ON INTERNAL COMPONENTS."
What does that mean?
Tech Support:
Don't worry, ma'am, that's a common problem. It means that the LOVE
program is set up to run on external HEARTs
but has not yet been run on your HEART.
It is one of those complicated programming things, but in non-technical
terms it means you have to "LOVE"
your own machine before it can "LOVE"
others.
Customer:
So what should I do?
Tech Support:
Can you pull down the directory called "SELF-ACCEPTANCE"?
Customer:
Yes, I have it.
Tech Support:
Excellent. You're getting good at this. Now, click on the
following files and then copy them to the "MYHEART"
directory: FORGIVE-SELF.DOC,
REALIZE-WORTH.TXT, and ACKNOWLEDGE-LIMITATIONS.DOC.
The system will overwrite
any conflicting files and begin patching any faulty programming. Also,
you need to delete SELF-CRITIC.EXE
from all directories, and then empty your recycle bin afterwards to make
sure it is completely gone and never comes back.
Customer:
Got it. Hey! My HEART
is filling up with new files. SMILE.MPG
is playing on my monitor right now and it shows that PEACE.EXE,
and CONTENTMENT.COM
are copying themselves all over my HEART.
Is this normal?
Tech Support:
Sometimes. For others it takes a while, but eventually everything gets
downloaded at the proper time. So,
LOVE is installed and
running. You should be able to handle it from here. Ah, one more
thing.
Customer:
Yes?
Tech Support:
LOVE
is freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everybody you
meet. They will in turn share it with other people and they will return some
similarly cool modules back to you.
Customer:
I will! Thanks for your help! Remember, LOVE
is Freeware!
(I can't claim authorship, but I own the program. My parents installed
it for me and I got a huge upgrade from my wife that is free of bugs.)

Richard
R., thank you for the email message!
