[August
29, 2004] On the morning of August
28th, we decided to gather
in the beautiful garden of the Park Hotel. The garden faces Thunersee
and the gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains. The group of nine
persons, as well as the other people that had participated in the daily
morning and evening devotional meetings, gathered for a photo session.
Rev. Alfred Ziefle, the missionary and relative, requested that a young man
from the Park Hotel photograph the entire group. Numerous cameras were
used to capture the memorable moments of the day.

In
addition to the group being photographed on August 28th, other photos were
taken as well. The photographs that are seen within this web page, give
additional views of the
beautiful garden that is situated toward the Thunersee from the Park Hotel.
That
morning [August 28, 2004],
we placed our luggages in the car. I spoke to the man that photographed
the group and stated, " . . . you need to go to church tomorrow,
etc." He replied, in essence, that he believes in God and asked
what church we recommend. I replied that he may visit a
non-denominational church. When I asked his name, his reply was,
"Adolph and Steve" and that we should pray for them.
The
nine-person group then traveled a few hours on August 28th. It was
decided, rather than going directly to Speyer, that the group of nine persons
visit the area of "Emmetten". "Emmetten" is an area
on top of a mountain. The view, from my pespective, is absolutely
indescribable. To the right side and the left side you can see the
rising mountains; and, the rising
mountains beyond the forefront of the view
of the mountains and lake makes you feel as though you are closer to God's
Heaven. The nine-person group made a picnic and continued to enjoy the
fresh air as well as the beautiful view of Emmetten.
Also,
that day - August 28th - we briefly viewed the beautiful city of Luzern.
[October 22, 2004 - The photo to the
left is a picture of Adam and Johanna standing on the bridge that crosses the
city of Luzern.]
[Sunday,
August 29, 2004] Attended Church
Service in Speyer, Germany.
[Monday,
August 30, 2004] Adam and I, as
well as the brother-in-law and the sister-in-law visited and lodged in the
home of their in-laws.
[Tuesday,
August 31, 2004] The four group
persons visited in-laws.

[September
1, 2004] Visited the Wartburg
Fortress.
One
of the highlights of the trip included sightseeing the famous fortress where
Martin Luther translated the Bible; namely, the New
Testament in the German language. Martin Luther accomplished this
tremendous task within one year at the Wartburg Fortress near Eisenbach in
Theuringen, Germany. To the right of this paragraph, you see my husband
and I standing at an elevated area, and the Wartburg Fortress is in the
background. God certainly created a beautiful world; however, mankind
has been given the opportunity to be good stewards for all that has been
entrusted to them. [Genesis
1:26]
