[August
21, 2004] Today is a cloudy day.
We started our travel about 7:15 a.m. from Ottesberg, Germany, to Switzerland.
While
traveling, we saw additional, beautiful outdoor scenery. It was decided
to stop at the Thunersee in Switzerland. While at Thunersee, we admired
the lovely lake; and beyond the lake, the high-rising mountains of Switzerland
is an absolute awesome sight. The scenery at the Thunersee (Thuner Lake)
is absolutely beautiful. [The
picture to the left was photographed while traveling in Switzerland. The
picture to the right shows Johanna and Adam standing in front of the Thunersee
"Thuner Lake". The above pictures may be enlarged by clicking
the photographs.]
We
waited until 2:30 p.m. for the rooms to be ready at the beautiful Park Hotel.
The Park Hotel has a beautiful garden. Beyond the garden, the view of
the Thunersee and the high-rising Switzerland mountains is an outstanding
panoramic view for any photographer.
[Sunday,
August 22, 2004] The third-floor
room where my husband and I are lodging, overlooks the lovely garden at the
Park Hotel. Beyond the garden, you see the breathtaking view of the
"Thuner Lake". The surrounding mountains are sprinkled
with trees and open green fields that show many Swiss-type homes. The
scenery in Switzerland is absolutely awesome!
This
morning (August 22, 2004), the group of nine persons had a delightful
breakfast in the dining room of the Park Hotel.
After
breakfast, we attended the daily "Devotional" meeting in a Park
Hotel meeting room with several other hotel guests. The
"Devotional" meetings - in the morning and in the evening - are
conducted by Rev. Alfred Ziefle (brother-in-law).
Today,
after the morning "Devotional" meeting, we traveled by car to
Grindelwald. After touring many shops, my husband and I, a missionary
couple (relatives) and the family of five persons, walked along
a path that led upward to one of the Swiss mountains. The path at one
area was extremely high. At the high-climbing path, this Oma (Johanna)
had to rest along the bench with the rest of the group. Later, the path
became straight so that the walk was not as cumbersome. The surrounding
areas of mountains, trees, valleys, and Swiss homes with their decorative
decor and colorful flower boxes in the windows is indescribable. We saw
several mountains that have snow caps throughout the year. [The
picture to the left was taken in the city of Grindelwald. The couple is
Adam and Johanna. The photo to the right gives a view of the majestic
mountains that can be seen in Switzerland. To view the photos in a

Because
the scenery was so beautiful in the Grindelwald area, we took a number of
photographs. The two photographs display the
beauty of Switzerland. The hiking trail along a mountain was absolutely
awesome. [To view the pictures in

Indeed,
God's Handiwork is magnificent in Switzerland. Question:

[Monday,
August 23, 2004] The weather today
is cool. The sun is shining, therefore, proving to be a beautiful day.
This morning we again had a lovely breakfast in the dining room of the Park
Hotel. At 9:30 a.m., I and my husband will attend a
"Devotional" time again. After the "Devotional"
time, we then will board a large tourist boat.
We plan to enjoy one hour of cruising along the vast body of water and viewing
the breath-taking surrounding scenery with its Swiss-type houses and
mountains. When arriving in Interlaken (Switzerland), we plan to
purchase a few souveniers.
The
cruise on the Thunersee (Lake) today (08/23/04) was awesome. While
cruising in a large passenger ship for l-l/2 hours, we saw the mountains
majestically displaying their enormous cliffs with the many pine trees that
were grasping the crevices so that they sustain continued growth. While
enjoying the cruise, I saw a large building on top of a high mountain. I
was told that the building is an Evangelical Bible School. Also, I was
told that the surrounding area of the Evangelical Bible School has numerous
houses that were built within the vicinity of the Evangelical Bible College.
[P.S.
(08-24-94) The planned hiking on 8-23-04 was not done, due to the fact
that we walked along the city of Interlaken and shopped in the beautiful
stores with its many products that tourists may purchase.]
