CHRISTIANS
ARE NOT PERFECT

A
profound sentence has been stated many times. That profound sentence
tells us: "Christians are not perfect, but they are forgiven!".
For
many years I have journeyed on this earth; and, those years have brought me
closer to God in heaven through Jesus Christ the Lord.
When
I was a 13-year old girl, I entered the United State of America with my
parents and other siblings. In 1951, I continued with the seventh grade
school level. The English language was learned within one year.
The learning process was not easy. I told my parents that I wanted to
stop attending school. The reason for my not wanting to attend school
was: As a 13-year old girl the adjustment to the new surroundings and the
difficulty of understanding another language was for a young girl not easy.
However, in view of all those difficulties, my grandmother [already living in
America for many years] emphasized how important it is for a girl to complete
12 years of schooling. All of those circumstances taught me that God
loves me and that the future of my life was and is in His control.
Do
you have the perfect spouse, perfect children, perfect home, perfect
surroundings, attend the perfect church, have the perfect day-to-day
situations? I can assure you that if you had a million dollars, your
life would go on and you may possibly continue with new problems and/or
situations in life.
Scripture
tells me that through Christ, forgiveness of transgression can be had for
anyone that will accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour of all mankind. [Psalm
103:10-12] And
through the atoning work of Jesus Christ on Calvary, mankind is assured that
some day he/she may enter the Glorious Eternity.
While
journeying on earth, may the Heavenly Father continue through prayer and
reading of His Word, strengthen the “faith and trust” in Him. God
created the Universe, and the Creator of the world cares about His creations.

"He
hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our
iniquities. For as the heavens is high above the earth, so great
is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from
the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like
as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear
him." ~ PSALM 103:10-12 ~ |
JOHANNA
FACES SURGERY
Written
by Johanna Hobrath (August 19, 2006)
It
was early in the morning of Friday, August 18th (2006) when my husband and I
drove to the nearby hospital. My husband stopped the car in the back of
the hospital building. I entered the "A" entrance of the
hospital and, then, waited for my husband to park the car.
We
then took the elevator to the first floor. At the reception desk, I was
cordially asked for my name. After a short time, I was called into
another area of the hospital (the recovery room). The receptionist then
asked me several questions. Those questions had already been written on
a form that had been mailed to me from the hospital.
The
hospital gown, etc. was provided for me, and the personal clothing was then
placed into a locker and secured with a lock. I then looked for the #9
bed. Soon a very nice and capable nurse completed more forms. I
was then prepared for surgery with the I.V. (intravenous feeding line), etc.
After a short period of time, the bed (with me in it) was rolled along the
long corridors until the two nurses and I reached the operating room.
In
the operating room, more medication was administered. I was soon in a
stage of unconsciousness. The foot doctor then operated on the right
foot that had a bunion. The toe next to the large toe also had to be cut
so that the second toe could be broken because of the extreme curvature of
that toe.
At
this time of writing (2:15 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2006), I am sitting on a
chair, my right foot with its gauze bandages and a blue shoe secured around
the foot is resting on a small coffee table. It
will be several weeks until I may continue the routine tasks that I am
accustomed to perform.
The
out-patient hospital experience for me and my husband were astounding. I
thank God for nurses and doctors. They have an awesome profession!
Living in America and with the knowledge in the medical field is, indeed,
astounding.
The
Greatest Physician is ultimately Jesus Christ, the Saviour of all mankind.
The
coming weeks will teach me to be more grateful for my husband and my family.
Also,
I shall be more grateful when the time comes when I will be able to return to
all my tasks as a homemaker, attending church services, fulfilling the duties
as a writer, etc.
