HAVE
HOPE
IN GOD!

Over
the years, when my mother was still alive, she had many health
problems. My mother was living in an apartment for about 20 years.
During that time, it was her desire not to move in with any of her
seven children. In 1998 I realized that her constant struggle
for independence had to come to a close. I believe it was
godly wisdom that her apartment in 1998 was being emptied and that
she lived two months with my husband and I, and two months with my
youngest brother and his wife. God chose to take
"Mom" to Heaven in the beginning of April 1999.
Undoubtedly,
many people face situations within their families that cause untold
anxiety. In crisis situations - and in good times - we can
bring petitions to the Throne of Heaven through Jesus Christ our
Lord. I have often stated: "What do people do that
do not know the Lord?" Also, God has given mankind the
know-how so that doctors can help when ill health does strike.
However, Christ is the ultimate Physician. Everyday prayers
are important, and prayer in crisis situations gives peace to
troubled hearts and lives. Indeed, I am a walking example of
the power of prayer. Why? Because of crisis in my life,
the prayer of holding on to the Hand of Jesus in the valley of
life has given confidence that Jesus
"will never leave you nor forsake you." [Hebrews
13:5]

This morning, February 28, 2005, I telephoned three relatives.
The first relative could not be reached, because I was told she was
in bed. This relative was in the hospital the entire previous
night because her oldest daughter had become blinded the night
before. What an unbelievable crises situation those relatives
have faced! In times like these, the extended family is also
traumatized by such an unexpected event. However, there is
definitely hope in God!
The
Bible gives us many Scripture Verses that give "Assurance of
Hope in God." A few of the "Hope Scriptures"
are:
Psalm
39:7
And
now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
Psalm
42:5
Why
art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me?
hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of
his countenance.
Psalm
119:49
Remember
the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
Psalm
119:81
My
soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.
Jeremiah
17:7
Blessed
is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Romans
5:5
And
hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in
our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Romans
8:24
For
we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope:
for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
Romans
15:4
For
whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our
learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures
might have hope.
I
Timothy 1:1
Paul,
an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour,
and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
Titus
2:13
Looking
for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God
and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
I
John 3:2,3
Beloved,
now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall
be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like
him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath
this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

(*) I am happy to report today, March 17, 2005, that several days
ago the relative was able to go back to her office job. We can
thank Jesus for being with us in good times and sad times; and, of
course, we may be grateful what the knowledge of technology in the
field of medicine can accomplish in this day and age.
