[September 8, 2004]  On September 8th, we drove to the beautiful city ofSalzburgPhoto1.jpg (84559 bytes) Salzburg.  The old cities, with their many years of existence, have a history that is of great value.  Many historians have written and do write about the years of culture and  livelihood that occurred during the past generations. [The photo to your right was taken from the top of the fortress located in Salzburg.]

The four-group persons [Adam and I, and brother/sister-in-law] had the opportunity to take an enclosed shuttle that led us to the walkways that surrounded the fortress in the outskirts of Salzburg.  Many years ago, the nobility or ruling monarchs were able to live in a surrounding that made it difficult for their enemies to approach such an enormous fortress. [The photo to your left shows husband and wife standing on a walkway next to the large fortress.]

The city of Salzburg is a  lovely old city.  New buildings have been constructed within that city.  You could say "the city of Salzburg consists of the older city  A river runs throughSalzburgBridge.jpg (83506 bytes) the city of Salzburg.  The four-person group walked across the beautiful bridge.  [To your right, you see a photograph of Adam and Johanna standing on the bridge that crosses the river in the center of Salzburg.]

On September 8th, we also had the opportunity to visit a beautiful flower garden that is located within the Salzburg area.  [The photo to your rightSalzburgGrdnPhotoOne.jpg (88547 bytes) gives a lovely view of the garden that displayed many colorful flowers.  The photo to your left is another picture of SalzburgGrdnPhotoTwo.jpg (71123 bytes) the colorful flower arrangements.  The couple in the pictures are Adam and Johanna.  The other photo to your right gives a view of Johanna posing inSalzburgFountain.jpg (84104 bytes) front of the beautiful fountain that can be seen in this lovely garden.  Many visitors take advantage to view such a display of colorful floral designs.]

[September 9, 2004]  For September the 9th, it was decided that the four-persons group was to travel to the beautiful Koenigsee [King's Lake].  The weather on September 9th was very nice and the sunshine added to this lovely day.  We traveled via a passenger boat along the Koenigsee BoatJHatKoenigsee.jpg (75533 bytes) and saw many mountains along the way.  During the boat ride, the boat came to a standstill.   A person with a trumpet then played a melody.  It was awesome to hear the echo of that melody.  [When the boat stopped at one of the destinations, a picture was taken of Johanna.  The passenger boat is also in the picture.]

While stopping at the specific destination, we enjoyed a walk along theWalkwayatKoenigsee.jpg (74209 bytes) area of the Koenigsee.  In one area you could see many of the passengers taking advantage of sitting at the tables under the shady trees.  We also sat at one of the tables,CatholicChrchatKoenigsee.jpg (101295 bytes) and PathwayalongKoenigsee.jpg (89945 bytes)we were served beverages to quench our thirsts.  We also decided to take walks along the sidewalks and/or the walks in the woods along the Koenigsee.  [The two photos of Adam and Johanna show the pathways near the Koenigsee.  The photo to your right gives the view of the Catholic church near the Koenigsee.  The four-persons group, as well as other visitors, viewed the inside of the beautiful church.]

[September 10, 2004]  On September 10th, we returned to the city of Speyer where the four-persons group were again graciously accepted for another night's lodging.  That evening, we re-packed all our belongings because the next day was to be a big day; namely, THE RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

P.S.  (9/10/04) Looking forward to returning home -- what a joy our final home - Heaven - will be.  As believers we can continue to work here on earth until we reach our final destination.

Prayer:  "Lord, thank You for the opportunity to see other parts of the world that was created as outlined in Genesis, Chapter One.  Lord, help me to continue to live a life that pleases You; and help me, Lord, to be a shining vessel for Your Glory -- in Jesus' Name, Amen!"  Johanna

[September 11, 2004]  The four-persons group traveled to Frankfurt today.  The rented automobile was returned, and we soon boarded the flight to America.
